Last weekend I went to see the new film Rio with a couple of friends. I really enjoyed the film as it was one of those heart-warming tales and a real feel good movie.
However, I was really disappointed with the 3D. I haven’t seen many film in 3D, but the ones I have, have been amazing. I saw Avatar and Up which was just brilliant to watch.
But it just did not work with Rio. There was no need for it to be in 3D and it didn’t add anything to the film and quite frankly did not make it look any better.
With loads of films using 3D, I think there needs to be a line to which kind of films work being in 3D and which don’t. If we have every film using it, it will get boring and when a film like Avatar comes along again we won’t appreciate how amazing it looks.
I think maybe some producers need some 3d training to help!
